Happy 4th!

I really dislike waking up any time past 10:30. I think I woke up at ~11-11:30 today. But I also went to bed at like 3:30 in the morning. Thankfully, it was a pretty productive day.

I went shopping with my mom (she bought me the Nike shoes I wanted as my early birthday present!) and then came home and helped her cook by making the salad. Then I dyed fabric, and attempted to dye a semi-gray dress dark red. It didn’t work. I think it needs a bleach bath first.

Then I decided it was finally time to clean out my little bookcase full of books and spray paint. I was going to spray paint the inside gold and the outside white, but I decided it looked legit as all gold. I’m waiting for that to dry overnight in the garage and then I’ll be able to put my books back and have more room for reorganization. I’ve got a huge bag full of books to donate.

I also went to Chili’s for the first time ever with Krista and Jordyn. It was pretty good. We went up to Lamphere Hill after to watch fireworks and that was kinda cool. We had a literal 360 view of fireworks from our city and surrounding cities. Bugs kept flying at my face.

Overall, not a bad 4th of July.

Sometimes I Wish I Rode.

Between classes today, I’ve been last-minute researching equestrian attire and accessories for Halloween. To back story this real quick, I bought a blazer yesterday after work and realized this morning that it looks pretty equestrian in color, cut and buttons. And it came to me that instead of being a snail tomorrow for costume day one at school, I could totally be a jockey/equestrian rider. All I’m really missing is a cap/helmet, gloves, and crop.

So anyway, about an hour ago I was on Pinterest just casually looking at equestrian related pins, and someone pinned a picture of riding boots with a caption about $28 so I followed the link and it led me to UrbanOG and I got lost in there for a good 45 minutes.

I found a pair of boots that I like that have a big enough calf circumference for my pretentiously oversized calves and in size 10 and in a color I like!

They only thing that bothers me is that they’re synthetic materials. I like to enjoy the “finer” things in life, and that includes leather boots, bags, and gloves and wool coats. I might end up getting them anyway though. You always need more boots.

Procrastination At Its Finest.

Amount of desire I have to write an essay on Madeleine Vionnet, due Wednesday: ||

I am such a procrastinator. Instead of writing the essay, I’m here, writing this post. Because writing thoughts is easier than searching for informations (yes, INFORMATIONS) and craftily rewording them into an essay. Yes, I’ve had 2 and half weeks to do this, but I didn’t have a desire to do it then and I sure as hell don’t have any desire to do it now. But I know as soon as it’s over, it’s over. Blagh.

So today I did I think 40 minutes of Zumba. It was quite nice. I’ve missed exercising. I haven’t had sufficient time to do it lately, and therefore I feel like an extra fat piggy – especially since I gained back 4 pounds. Which doesn’t sound like a lot, but for me it’s the difference between feeling happy with myself and feeling like a complete failure at life. Right now I’m in the median of the two. I’ve been thinking of joining Weight Watchers. The fact that I have to pay for it would probably keep me on track more than anything. That way, if I slack, I can slap myself on the hand and be like “THIS IS HARD EARNED MONEY YOU ARE THROWING DOWN THE DRAIN!” I should really get on that…

Anyway, so I was really excited that The Artist won best picture last night at the Oscars. And Jean Dujardin won best actor in a leading role. He’s so cute, it was wonderful! I still need to see that movie. And I still need a partner in crime to see it with. I thought about asking HNI to accompany me, but I feel like he’ll say no. Although perhaps I should keep a positive attitude, as you never know. Man, I swear, if he reads this blog…hahaha Betsy and I were discussing that last week and she said something like “If I knew someone wrote about me, you bet your ass I would follow that blog just to see what they had to say about me.” I agree. In which case, his ego must be the size of Australia.

Okay, I’m going to go attempt this essay. But not before I share this picture of these Dolce & Gabbana shoes. I want them.
