Sweet Red Roo.

Today marks my 400th post on this blog! I didn’t think I’d remember to mention that, but I’m glad I did.

Anyway, I just wanna say that getting to sleep in after waking up with an alarm the whole week is one of the best feelings in the whole world. I really miss the days when I get to do it more often. I treasured them even back then, but I treasure them even more now.

Besides sleeping in, today I got to hang out with my best high school friend Krista and we had delicious authentic Mexican food, visited our high school because the annual craft show was going on, and then I gave her 16 pairs of pants that don’t fit me anymore. It was productive.

Afterwards, I contemplated going out shopping but didn’t know for what. I ended up realizing I needed to make a trip to the alcohol store, and bought 6 bottles of wine and a baggie of peppermint meringues. I was super excited to find that the Manischewitz wines had received a price reduction since the last time I bought wine. I’m pretty excited to try that Sweet Red Roo, actually. Currently I have the Manischewitz Blackberry open because I haven’t had that one before.

I only drink sweet wines.

And then I had a wine drinking Skype date with my best friend Maria with Twilight playing in the background. And now I’m sort of watching Twilight: New Moon. All I can think of is that Jacob is in love with one of Bella’s eggs. And also that he needs to cut his hair already. Jesus.

The Scent of Green Papaya

There’s something about waking up (and definitely falling asleep) to the sounds of rain. I love summer rain. While it may obscure the sun and lay me off tanning and swimming for a day or two, it’s usually always pleasant, followed by the soothing sounds of birds and crickets chirping. And for some reason, I never see worms in the summer after it rains. I like that.

I went to Meijer today as my ‘get out the house‘ adventure and bought gin and tonic. I would first like to mention that I think I’ll always associate gin and tonic with Philly, dreary rainy days, and my best friend telling me it’s an old man’s drink. And also probably the imaginary speakeasies and saloons filled with old men and cigars that I imagine when I think of old men drinking gin and tonic. I made my mom a drink too and I think I got her a little tipsy, it was amusing.

Lastly, I watched a movie on Netflix today called The Scent of Green Papaya, which, by the way, has the most wonderful ring to it when you say it out loud or in your head. Go ahead, say it. It’ll roll off your tongue spectacularly. Anyway, it looked interesting because firstly, it was a foreign film and I adore me them foreign movies. Secondly, the description mentioned it was Oscar-nominated, and thirdly, it mildly reminded me of Memoirs of A Geisha (before I watched it) which I adore, so I had to watch it. It turned out pretty good. It was one of those movies, kind of like Marie Antoinette, that was more cinematic and artsy than blockbustery. And by that I mean there was very little dialogue and a heavy emphasis on the art of filmography. I honestly have no idea what the point of the movie was, because as far as I’m concerned, there was none. But it didn’t drag on and it was pretty easy to watch. If you like movies with attention to detail, watch it.

Oh, and P.S. I updated Vivography today!

P.P.S. I wore a scarf around my head today while I was out and I really like the look. I think I might start doing it more often when I don’t want to fix my hair.

Narcissism and Alcohols!

But that glorious feeling is short-lived, as I still have some tidbits to finish up on the fashion show garments. Sigh. On the bright side though, I got to happily turn off my alarms AND AND AND get THIS: I ACTUALLY HAD TIME TO TAKE¬†NARCISSISTIC¬†PICTURES OF MYSELF. BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT I DO WHEN I HAVE FREE TIME.

Here is one of my favorites, and the only one I got around to editing, as well as a preview for the next Vivography post. :D

I must say when I saw this one in the set, it really jumped out at me. I like the focus and lighting on my face, and the motion blurriness of my hair. At the same time though, I wish I had a better camera/shutter speed so I could capture movement better. BUT, I think it turned out pretty great.

I’m having a celebratory Seagram’s Escapes Mango drink at the moment. For a second while I was writing that I thought “ooo, I shouldn’t say that” but then I remembered I’M 21 NOW MUAHAHHAA. I can do what I damn well please. Speaking of which, on my birthday, Maria and I went to what I call “THE alcohol store” aka Champane’s Wine Cellars where I bought the Zombie Killer wine and some other alcohols.

But that’s not the point. The point is that previously I had bought Seagrams’ at Hollywood Market as my first alcoholic purchase. At Champane’s when I showed my clipped under 21 driver’s license (I still haven’t received my new one yet), my checkout lady had a debate with another worker about whether she should sell me alcohol or not on my birthday. The other lady said she didn’t know if you could purchase alcohol on your birthday which is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. It’s my birthday. I’m legally 21. That means I’m legally allowed to purchase alcohol to my heart’s content. They finally decided (hesitantly, BTW) that I was allowed. If they would have declined, I would have thrown a fit. Seriously.

Anyway, it’s time to waste time on Tumblr and whatnots.

Captain Morgan Freeman Rum.

I almost kind of regret not working on my pattern techniques jacket since Friday, but there’s not much I can do by myself without totally winging it and probably having to take it apart to redo tomorrow. So I will push it out of my mind until morning, in class. I’m pretty sure I’m going to cry from stress over it in the next 2 days.

Mini Boss and I decided that I’m going to do an early presentation tomorrow in class since I’ve finished my board. I think this means I don’t have to dress up extra nice on Thursday, which is kind of a relief in a way. But it means I have to dress up tomorrow. I should check the weather. OH! Apparently it’s supposed to be 50 degrees tomorrow! Excellent! I could probably even wear my trench coat. And the snow is going to all melt. Oh I’m loving this ridiculous winter we’re having.

Anyway, I’m going to leave you all tonight with this fantastic picture of Captain Morgan….Freeman rum I found on Tumblr. <3
