DTRO & Curly Hair

Today started out kinda shitty. It was threatening to rain, and then it did. And I was sitting and moping around my house trying to figure out what to do with my life or where to go.

I decided the gym is always a good option, even though I didn’t really wanna go. But I went. Had a light workout because I’m a little bitch and made plans with one of my friends, Kristen, to go to downtown Royal Oak after.

From then on, it turned out to be a fanfuckingtastic day!!

We stopped at this tea place and got bubble tea and then had dunchen at Little Tree Sushi Bar and it was DE-lish. Although the plum sushi I got was awful and I couldn’t decide if the plum part was really salty or really sour. I thought it was just really salty until Kristen tasted it and thought it was really sour. My cucumber salad was superb though.

We also went shopping around at Paris and Lost and Found Vintage, among other stores. I bought this sterling silver and citrine ring I’d been thinking about since the last time I was there at Paris, and Kristen found this cute dress she ended up buying there that fit her very well and did all kinds of wonderful things for her boobs.

Lastly, tonight is the first night of the year that I’ve allowed my hair to air dry and IT DECIDED TO DO THIS:

It hasn’t been this curly IN A REALLY LONG ASS TIME. Like, YEARS. Now the trick is to preserve these curls overnight so I don’t look completely bad when I wake up tomorrow and have to do too much with it.

I Embarrass Myself

I’m somewhat surprisingly really tired at the moment.

It’s been a great weekend full of events and people and places. Last night I attended a bachelorette party that consisted of bar hopping, booze, and before and after – wrestlers boys.

It also consisted of me exhibiting an embarrassing Freudian slip. A local DJ was part of the bachelor party brigade and when he arrived, he immediately introduced himself at the door and my reaction was to gasp incredibly loudly and throw my left hand in the air – it was an insane enough reaction that Alyza swatted my arm down and told me to settle down. It got worse though. He walked over, introduced himself again, to me personally, and I said that we are Facebook friends as if he knew who I was already. *shakes head* I feel all kinds of first, second, third-hand etc embarrassment for myself.

Prior to that portion of my day/night, I attended a sketching group event with a handful of gamer friends and we sat around at a local coffee shop and sketched for ~4 hours. It was a lot of fun actually. Really reminded me how much I love traditional art and how much I need to get back into it.

Lastly, the weather forecast for the upcoming week looks GLORIOUS and I am SO excited for some upcoming 80 degrees. I bought a new pair of shorts today and everything. ;)

I’m A Kickass Cook.

Today I cooked this:

And this:

Prepare yourselves.

Food porn is on the way to Vivography.

I also went to see my high school’s spring musical tonight with my brother. These are my observations:

1. A lot of the high school girls ARE REALLY SHORT wtf?
2. When I was in high school, there weren’t a lot of people who did drama club, but they were way better vocally than everyone who sang tonight.
3. Reserved seats. Really? Really?

Why is Life So Busy?

Okay, first of all, let me say that I’m not COMPLAINING per se, as I love da $$$ and the commish, but goddamn, I’ve been working a lot lately and my schedule for the next month is very booked up, mostly with work, but also with events.

So, secondly, holy mother of god events. I’ve been getting invited to so many things lately! And again, I’m not complaining because it’s nice to be wanted, you know? But everything is so like TIGHTLY KNIT TOGETHER IN TIME. Like I have ~5 or 6 things/places I have to do/hit up this weekend alone. Damn!

Like for real people, I didn’t imagine my post graduation time to be spread so thin, like fatty homemade butter. But, just so the universe doesn’t do some kind of karma on me, I AM NOT COMPLAINING!!

Anyway, so I got my 50mm lens in the snail mail today! I quickly tested it out when I opened it and it. is. AWESOME. Super excited to be able to test it out more in depth when I have time and the weather is nicer. And that better be soon because I AM complaining about this: IT’S APRIL 24TH AND I’M FREEZING UNDER MY BED COVERS BECAUSE IT’S FUCKING 30SOMETHING DEGREES OUTSIDE. It rained, snowed, fogged, and it was sunny today. Get your shit together Michigan, goddamn.

Check out that legit ass packaging!

On the bright side, I got a new Lucky purse today and it smells like the leather gods have blessed it with the godliest leather scent in Leather Land and everyone who saw me sniffing it at DSW today gave me weird looks, but they have 0 idea what they’re missing out on, and that’s okay, because I totally don’t mind hoarding that divine scent all for my olfactory nerves.

I Fall Asleep Writing Poems at 10:38 PM

Has anyone else been doing National Poetry Month this year? I keep skipping days and then falling asleep trying to come up with lines to rhyme lmao. I’m pretty sure I fell asleep at like 10:38 last night. I still need to fill in AT LEAST 5 days of poems. Sigh. Duties.

I’m debating what to do with my day off tomorrow. I kind of just want to be a couch potato and stay at home, not really do much. I should probably hit up the gym though. I went today and it was a good decision. Although this one really beefy guy who I’ve seen before and always stares at me intensely was lifting next to me and it was kind of hilariously awkward because I felt like he was showing off.

But I’m not sure if he was showing off in like HEY BABAY way or a LOOK AT MY FUCKING GUNS BITCH YEAH I KNOW I DON’T NEED TO LIFT ANYMORE BUT LOOK AT MY BICEPS, THEY’RE THE SIZE OF YOUR THIGHS way. He kept making eye contact with me and then lifting 100s. I was like….okay…I’m just gonna continue tricep dipping here…

The best part was when he flexed his biceps in the mirror and I really had to restrain myself from laughing out loud. Seriously, sometimes people do shit that makes me have to bite my tongue and I look insane smiling in the mirror.

That Grad Life

Today was nice. The weather was pleasant for a good portion, (it’s been raining since ~4 PM) so I had a great run before I headed off to school for the graduation fair, which thankfully, despite the power going out and all the classes being cancelled, was still going on.

Hit up the bar after followed by hanging out with Alyza and Tina for a bit and I just finished watching about 2 hours of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I’m seriously in love with that show.
