So it is officially not only Halloween (yay!) but also the last day of my 365 project. I’m still not sure if I want to do another round. I probably won’t, but I’ll still blog often. I think I just won’t get upset if I miss a day or something. Or rather not worry about it.
Anyway, today I got hit on by this freshman that has taken to hitting on me at every opportunity he can possibly grasp. I was decked out in my fox gear for Halloween, and he came up to me and basically acted like this:
Direct quote: “Hey honey, you look beautiful with all dat makeup on. I mean you love beautiful all the time, hahaha, you’re beautiful. So what time you get off work tonight? I’m here until 8.” I just wanted to be like…please stop talking and never breathe the same air as me again.
I guess that’s my life now? Getting hit on by ALL the peoples? Just not the right peoples. *Sigh*
Lastly, I got someone to buy my DSLR off me so I can upgrade. But I have a problem. I want to get the Nikon d3200 (I think, I’m still researching though) but my macro lens appears to not be compatible with the d3200 and I am really upset. I spent $454 on that lens. I feel like it’s a new enough lens that IT SHOULD BE COMPATIBLE WITH ALL THE FUCKING NIKON CAMERAS. Like, bitch! I don’t drop hundreds of dollars on shit just willy nilly. Come on now.
Alyza & Me
My brain is too overwhelmed for a “real” post tonight, so I’ll make it quick.
I found these lights on Pinterest and clicked to see where I could find them. Turns out, Restoration Hardware is selling these babies, so after work I rushed over there and bought a pack of the 5 ft sapphire lights (they were all out of the diamond ones, sadface).
I am far too excited about these lights, you guys. I’m going back to buy the diamond ones when they have them back in stock.
Oh, and btw, Day 1 of 2 of Halloween dress up days at school was today – I put a lot of last minute effort into piecing together my fabulous equestrian jockey outfit. Thank you, thank you very much.
And yes, I made that stellar riding crop using a dowel rod and scrap leather. *Bows*
Between classes today, I’ve been last-minute researching equestrian attire and accessories for Halloween. To back story this real quick, I bought a blazer yesterday after work and realized this morning that it looks pretty equestrian in color, cut and buttons. And it came to me that instead of being a snail tomorrow for costume day one at school, I could totally be a jockey/equestrian rider. All I’m really missing is a cap/helmet, gloves, and crop.
So anyway, about an hour ago I was on Pinterest just casually looking at equestrian related pins, and someone pinned a picture of riding boots with a caption about $28 so I followed the link and it led me to UrbanOG and I got lost in there for a good 45 minutes.
I found a pair of boots that I like that have a big enough calf circumference for my pretentiously oversized calves and in size 10 and in a color I like!
They only thing that bothers me is that they’re synthetic materials. I like to enjoy the “finer” things in life, and that includes leather boots, bags, and gloves and wool coats. I might end up getting them anyway though. You always need more boots.
I am totally shameless.
Let me preface this by saying that in high school, I was completely and totally against anything and everything Twilight. My freshman year of college (I think…might’ve been sophomore, whatever) I decided that I needed to read the books, having seen the first two movies and *gasp* LIKING THEM.
And now I’m here, senior year of college, excitedly awaiting the arrival of the final installment of the saga, and watching New Moon for the second night in a row on FX. I still want to smack Edward for leaving though, and Bella for being a dumb bitch. And still thinking Jacob needs a fucking haircut already. Like, fasterrr, please.
Anyway, earlier I went out to my car to get the coat and blazer I bought after work, and as I was walking to and fro, there was a sound of like….drones, almost. And it made me think of like, some post-apocalyptic-1984-regime-star-wars-era scenario and I started coming up with a plot for a book.
Here’s the thing though. I always come up with these book ideas and sometimes I start to write them. But I never finish them…and suddenly I’ve remembered that starting on November 1st, it is totally NaNoWriMo! (That’s National Novel Writing Month, for you noobs out there, in which you spend 30 days trying to write a 50,000 word novel.) Maybe I should participate in it for real this year. Last year I thought about it. I did a 30 day pre-NaNoWriMo challenge on this blog that turned out to be my 365 project. And here I am, on the cusp of finishing it up.
I’m still undecided about whether I want to do it again, for another year – the whole 365 blogging thing, that is. What do you guys think?
Today marks my 400th post on this blog! I didn’t think I’d remember to mention that, but I’m glad I did.
Anyway, I just wanna say that getting to sleep in after waking up with an alarm the whole week is one of the best feelings in the whole world. I really miss the days when I get to do it more often. I treasured them even back then, but I treasure them even more now.
Besides sleeping in, today I got to hang out with my best high school friend Krista and we had delicious authentic Mexican food, visited our high school because the annual craft show was going on, and then I gave her 16 pairs of pants that don’t fit me anymore. It was productive.
Afterwards, I contemplated going out shopping but didn’t know for what. I ended up realizing I needed to make a trip to the alcohol store, and bought 6 bottles of wine and a baggie of peppermint meringues. I was super excited to find that the Manischewitz wines had received a price reduction since the last time I bought wine. I’m pretty excited to try that Sweet Red Roo, actually. Currently I have the Manischewitz Blackberry open because I haven’t had that one before.
I only drink sweet wines.
And then I had a wine drinking Skype date with my best friend Maria with Twilight playing in the background. And now I’m sort of watching Twilight: New Moon. All I can think of is that Jacob is in love with one of Bella’s eggs. And also that he needs to cut his hair already. Jesus.
